If you’re ready to experience all that High Point has to offer, then we have the information that you need! We cannot wait to have you exploring our gorgeous town and the surrounding areas. Here are some of the best tips and tricks we have when it comes to planning your trip:

Packing

Be sure to pack comfortable shoes. You’ll likely be doing a lot of walking as there is much to see. We also recommend planning your outfits with layers in mind, including a sweater or a jacket. The weather can change rapidly during the course of the day, and you never know what temperature the shops will be kept at, so it’s best to be prepared.

Shopping

High Point is known as The Furniture Capital of the World. You’d be missing out if you came to High Point and didn’t find at least one unique piece of furniture to take home with you. Of course, if you do intend to shop for furniture, make sure you know which space you are shopping for. Floor plans, blueprints, room dimensions, ceiling heights, doorway sizes, and stairway sizes are just some of the essential measurements that you should have with you. You will be able to choose items that will move easily into your designated space. Be sure to also bring along any photos, colors, fabrics, and flooring samples that you may want to match. You can use these as a reference to ensure the choice you make is the right one.
If you are looking for a shopping location, then we recommend visiting the Hickory Furniture Mart. This is a four-story building that holds more than 15 furniture outlets! It’s located in the western part of northwest Charlotte.

Planning

Set your budget for either one specific room, or your whole home. Be sure to take into account your state’s sales tax and shipping costs, as all states now require stores to submit their sales tax. There is still a large amount of savings with these prices, as most shops include white glove set up in your home. Don’t forget to ask about this service when you make your purchase.

Flying In

We recommend flying into the Greensboro PTI airport it is smaller and easier to fly in and out of. The Charlotte Douglas Airport is about 1 ½ hour from High Point and an hour from Hickory. There is also the Raleigh-Durham RDU is also about an hour and a half from High Point.
